New Jersey Bioptic Laws 

Bioptics are not permitted. 

• Visual Acuity: 20/50 in the better eye, with or without corrective lenses.
• Any VA that does not meet that requirement is sent to the Medical Review Board.
• They may require the patient’s eye care practitioner to provide pertinent information regarding vision/ocular status.
  
• Visual Field: Not mentioned in the regulations.
• Bioptic telescopes are not mentioned in the rule to meet visual acuity standards.
